We Live Outside the Box

We Live Outside the Box

Hey Everyone!

There are many things that we try to do in the store besides, obviously, selling clothes. We love meeting new and regular customers to talk, share, and connect.

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting the incredible Nechama Perlstein from Arzei HaBira. Nechama is just about to open up Majestique- a plus size boutique (information below). We spoke about clothing and the emotions that go into it.

Nechama shared with me her mother's value of self care in order to be the best wife, mother, daughter and friend. Her mother invested time and money in knowing which colors and styles would look best on her and gave this opportunity to her daughters as well. It didn't matter what was in style, what mattered was that one looked best in the styles that fit her. Instead of being frustrated when she shopped, Nechama's mother actually felt bad for the stores who could not get it right- who could not carry what regular people needed.

I connected to that point because as I shop for the store and even for myself I keep trying on the "in" styles but they don't always look good. And just because something is "in" doesn't mean that we all must wear it.

We had a similar experience recently when going to buy a new light fixture for the store. We showed the salesperson the shape I liked but he said it's an old style and people aren't really using it these days. We replied, "What does that have to do with us? We live outside the box."

Nechama explained why she decided to open her store. She has been living here in Yerushalayim for over 15 years and she has had a really really hard time finding clothes. There is a clear need in Yerushalayim so she's doing it!  We continued to discuss our journey to love ourselves and to be OK with who we are; to acknowledge that our bodies are here to help us be the best people we can be, not to define us. It doesn't matter what size you are or what number it says on the scale, we need to take care of our bodies and be healthy physically so that we thrive spiritually.

All that being said. I am excited to announce that the new Spring Collection is here as well as new gifts for every order over ₪500!!!

Come by and let's get dressed together!

Chaya and Co.

PS: Thanks to you, we were able to donate almost 1,000 new items to women displaced by the war. We will continue to support these women and if you'd like to join us, you can still buy an EEE Gift Card here.
